BIG BOY TALK - UPDATE AS OF 7/5/2010
WE ARE GOING TO USE THIS AREA TO UPDATE EVERYONE AS MUCH AS WE CAN TO MAKE THIS TRANSITION AS SMOOTH AS WE CAN FOR OUR MEMBERS. WE KNOW ALL OF THIS CAME AS A SHOCK TO EVERYONE AND IT IS GOING TO TAKE A FEW WEEKS TO SET IN, BUT TRUST ME, THE PLANS IN THE WORKS ARE GOING TO MAKE ALL OF THIS WORTH IT. THIS UPDATE I WANT TO TARGET THE BIG BOYS. CHAVERS IN FARRELL IS NOW OPEN AND READY TO ROCK. IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T HEARD ALL OF THE DETAILS, CHAVERS IS GOING TO BE THE "BIG BOY" OR "MEATHEAD" GYM. GUYS (AND WOMEN), LISTEN WE FINALLY HAVE A PLACE THAT NO ONE IS GOING TO BOTHER US WITH THE MUSIC, GRUNTING, OR WHATEVER ELSE WE GET INTO. EVEN AT BBG'S FIRST LOCATION WE ENDURED ENDLESS HOURS OF BITCHING ABOUT THIS OR THAT. SOMEONE WAS ALWAYS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE MUSIC BEING TOO LOUD. NOT ANYMORE. WE DID SOME SERIOUS BUSTING ASS LAST WEEK AND GOT EVERYTHING MOVED AND SET UP DOWN IN FARRELL, BUT IT IS NOT DONE. THERE IS STILL MORE TO DO. WE WANT YOU TO LET US KNOW WHAT ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE DOWN THERE AND HOW TO SET IT UP. FOR THE MOST PART, EVERYONE IS REAL HAPPY WITH EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW, BUT WE STILL WANT YOUR INPUT.
THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR MEATHEADS. WE NOW HAVE A PLACE COMPLETELY TO OURSELVES AND NO ONE TO KEEP US FROM TRAINING SERIOUSLY. HERE'S WHAT YOU HAVE TO KEEP IN MIND, IF ONE LOCATION DOESN'T HAVE EVERYTHING YOU WANT THAT DAY SET UP YOUR ROUTINE SO THAT YOU CAN VISIT THE PLACE THAT DOES WHEN YOU NEED IT. GETTING READY FOR COMPETITION WE CAN TRAIN HARD IN FARRELL, THEN WHEN IT COMES TIME TO CUT WEIGHT GO TO HERMITAGE FOR CARDIO AND THE SAUNA.
THE YMCA IS REALLY EMBARRASSING THE MEATHEAD WAY OF LIFE, BUT IT IS GOING TO TAKE SOME PATIENCE AS THERE IS ONLY SO MANY PEOPLE AND SO MANY HOURS IN THE DAY. THE "Y" BUSTED ASS LAST WEEK TO GIVE US OUR OWN PLACE AND SET IT UP JUST FOR THE BIG BOYS, THE LEAST WE CAN DO IS SHOW SOME PATIENCE UNTIL THE WHOLE PLAN COMES TO FRUITION. TRUST ME BOYS, IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT IN THE END.
MEATHEAD FOR LIFE

Dear Valued Members,
This letter is to inform you that Barbenders Gym will cease operations and close the doors Monday (6/28/10) at this location. It has been a pleasure to serve you here at BBG, however, in an effort to better serve our community, BBG will become a part of the Shenango Valley YMCA. Many of the same services and equipment you utilize here will be transferred to the YMCA facilities and combined with what exists there to provide a fantastic variety for our members.
We have taken all necessary steps to make this transition as easy and convenient as possible for everyone. Closing on Monday means that all BBG members with current memberships that extend past 6/28/10 will become members of the YMCA automatically until that membership expires. A list of such members will be provided to the YMCA so they can check the status of your membership at the time of BBG's closing and you will not lose any time that you have previously paid for. Anybody wishing to use the YMCA facilities must enroll for a YMCA membership when they initially go there, but, again, any time you have remaining on your BBG membership will be added to your membership there.
Again in an effort to make this change easy for you, no joiner fees will be charged to BBG members joining the YMCA through July 31St. This will save you $35-$50! For your reference, YMCA membership types and rates are:
|

Some highlights of this transition include:
• BBG members whose membership is current at the time of closing, Monday, 6/28/10, will be grandfathered in to the YMCA- meaning any time you have left will be added to a yearly YMCA membership, or if you choose the autopay method, your monthly fee will not be drafted until after your existing membership expires.
• The YMCA is currently working on a project that will give all YMCA members access to multiple locations and a huge variety of services.
• All BBG "heavy-lifters" need not worry: the YMCA is wrapping up renovations on a new fitness center/gym in Farrell where all the "big boys" can play their loud music and throw some serious weight around. Free weights and "Hammer Strength" equipment will be featured. This will be available to you starting Monday, July 5t'. Initially the hours in Farrell will be 4-1Opm, but hours will be extended in the fall.
• For all BBG members who participate in "Group Exercise" classes: YMCA memberships include access to participate in all classes, and many of the classes from BBG will now be offered at the YMCA (complete schedule coming soon).
• Combining the assets of BBG with those of the YMCA will create this area's premier fitness/wellness/recreation facility and will provide huge value for your membership dollars.
We are very pleased to make you aware of this fantastic opportunity. Please take advantage of the limited time you have to join the YMCA with no joiner fee. We are working very hard to make this transition as seamless and convenient as possible for all members. We hope to see you at the Y!
Sincerely,
| Joellen Arenas | Paul Vargo |
